Housekeeping Blog Post: Suspensions and Personal Details
66 Answers
Good afternoon everyone. I hope we're all keeping well?
I know we all get quite friendly on here sometimes - and in such cases it can become easy to feel very involved with everyone else on the site. Sometimes we come to like, and even trust each others.
Sometimes this means we'll be prone to giving away more information about ourselves than we should.
Please remember not to post details about your personal life such as your name, date of birth or contact details such as email addresses, phone numbers and real addresses.
Equally, please avoid giving away the details of other users. Doing so will result in a suspension - especially if it seen to be malicious. Not only is it dangerous, but it's a bit creepy!
We do not acknowledge suspended or banned users by email.
So, while it may be therapeutic to email us during your suspension, don't expect an email back!
Suspensions last a week to be reviewed on the following Monday.
Please accept that the rules apply to you, and that you might not be in the best position to judge whether you "deserved it" or not. Just enjoy your suspension.
All the best,
Spare Ed

Agree with Chuck, I wouldn't consider throw away email addresses personal, especialy if given by the user in question. However, I would consider someone publishing my actual details to be worthy of a ban. You get suspended for acting like a muppet or breaking minor Site Rules etc... I think that's a biggie rule to break and needs a harsher punishment.
Nice to see you've subscribed to your own question though :)

Chuck, I always subscribe - it's one of the handiest features of AB.

I see you went for the "pair-of-docs" rather than the more standard para-docs: http://www.theanswerb.../Question1016852.html
I am not sure why Chuck is talking about a low scoring hand of water-fowl. But then, maybe the chickens got wise?
