Is there anyway I can change my user name please - I've only just learned that anyone googling it can find out where I post and there are some people I would prefer not to have access to this information -

Trim - I'm aware that each post is adding to the tally but when this thread is finished, there won't be many more. You seem to be having fun at my expense, enjoy it, we aren't all as switched on as you. I'm beginning to wish I hadn't asked for any help - thought it was answerbank, not let's try and make the OAP look silly.

carmalee could you not open a hotmail account rejoin in you son or daughters name and then start as a new person
remember if someone is watching you post on this site and you come on here and tell people who you are you will be back to square one
so best not make your new name public and don't forget you will have to find a new picture for your avatar

carmalee - When it first becomes apparent that what you thought was idle chit-chat, on an innocuous Q&A website, is actually available to everybody in the whole wide world to read through, it can make you a bit wobbly......
But, if you take a little while to consider exactly 'how much' information you have given away and just how much 'stuff' someone would have to trawl through to make a positive identification of *you*, you may find that you are fretting unnecessarily.
Are you concerned that 'whoever' may follow you onto this site and start posting?
If you have concerns about *any* poster, you must address these to the Ed asap and he will be able to deal with them
If I have misunderstood your worries, I apologise. :o)

Dr Filth - thank you for the advice.
Jack the hat - yes, that's what I was thinking - it would be very easy for anyone to 'engineer' posts. I haven't said anything on here that is private, but I'd be very uncomfortable if I thought another AB member was in fact, someone known to me. I accept your comment that maybe I'm fretting a bit but there's history. Thanks JTH

carmalee - Unfortunately, in reality, whilst it may be uncomfortable for you, your 'whoever' is just as entitled to register and use this forum as anyone else in the world.
Like I said, *if* you are concerned by the behaviour or comments of any other ABers, contact the Ed asap and I'm sure he'll endeavour to put your mind at rest. :o)
