Why, when suspended, do some users lose their avatar, and some don't?

I'm just curious as someone linked to a suspended users question and they still have their AV...yet another user, suspended on the same day, doesn't.

We already have Absos Bobbi. It's how the current suspension system works.

just labelled them ED, that's all, it gives them a 'badge' like status.. lol

What got me thinking is some people change their Av's while suspended...but other people go back to jelly men.

is it 'three strikes and out' if you get suspended or does it depend on the gravity of the crime? If it's really, really bad (like criticising Ed's gnome for instance) do you get banish to the Gobi Desert forever?

No....it's a naughty step. How long you sit there depends on your age....

it was me who changed my av when suspended ummmm, so just thought I would point this out, and was my av which was turned into jelly :-((((
so I can draw closure now :-)

Absolutely nothing to do with you Bobbi. I posted this on the day they both got suspended. I've never checked out your avatars, and I can't see myself ever doing so.
