Morning,

I wondered if we could take a moment to talk about the way you use AB.

I've seen people post a few times that they wouldn't send their friends to AB because they've been using it fairly anonymously for years and, as such, have divulged things they wouldn't share with others in their life necessarily.

So, I wondered, in what circumstance would you introduce a friend to The AnswerBank?

And equally, why wouldn't you? What could we do to ensure that you could use the site as you want AND invite your friends to join in when they need a helping hand (or wish to be helpful)?

Thanks everyone, hope we like the new logo!

Ah, Redhelen, why?
I don't know if my friends have joined. I know one of them is a friend of AB on FB......
2shortplanks - thats exactly what I mean't, but you have put it better.

"I know one of them is a friend of AB on FB..."

Maybe a good sign?

Anne, it's not a bad idea. It'd only be a cake or something though.
I'm with 2 short planks - I don't advertise to family & friends I'm on here, as I've asked some advice on very private/personal matters before, not the sort of thing I'd share with everyone who personally knows me. Thankfully, those days are behind me, but should the need arise, I would like to be asking advice in total anonymity.
I wouldn't really want my family on here with me - but i have reccomended to friends to join. I am very proud of my membership here, and I enjoy the exchange of views, humour and nfo. very much.

Not much point me linking to friends on personal interaction / frienship sites, I don't have any!

"I like the anonymity of AB and enjoy having an escape to talk to strangers about issues that I don't want to discuss with those close to me."

So, do you think you'd invite anyone you know IRL here?
I'm saying nothing....lol

Also, does anyone like the new logo?

Sorry ed - I wouldnt tell anybody I know about Answerbank because although I enjoy it I wouldnt feel free to answer as I do if I thought someone I knew was 'watching'.
I like the anonimity and if someone said to me they used answerbank I wouldnt tell them I did too.
AB deserves a better Logo Ed, it does not do the site justice
No I wouldn't send links to AB on my facebook profile as a suggestion for friends/family to join as that's basically spamming them. I've mentioned AB, it's no secret, if they want to use it then they will.
I'd happily provide links to AB elsewhere, but I'd draw the line at getting a friend on it - it's mine I tell you, all mine!
one day the ed might put a bike logo up

one can dream
Hadn't noticed the logo - but since I have, it's like two people having a private convo, which they appear to want to keep to themselves; so by asking the question of letting people we know we are on here kind of defeats the 'sharing our thoughts etc' with friends/family/people we know object??
