How can I correct a spelling mistake after posting?

you cant- well, not the initial post anyway. You can post a further reply to your question correcting your mistake, but that's it. What ya post is what your stuck with, warts and all ;-)

You can't edit a post. But you can make another post acknowledging the misspelling.

I like the unfairness of it, there are no "edit posts" in real life, you have to make your mistakes and stand by them. :)

then they are left on your profile as a permanent reminder.

Thank you Boo, i had just sent my condolence to the family of MadSteve,
who has just pass away, and had spelling mistake, don't mind if its just a
question but something like this makes me feel awful. ( I had put the word
dad instead of Sad.

I remember one occasion when the wording of a post changed slightly. Maybe Ed does it in special cases if you ask him nicely- send hm an email

Very rare for any mistake such as yours to be taken wrongly and often when emotions are charged it is even more likely we post them. Try not to worry.
