Can I politely suggest that if the Ed's serious about nominees that people do it via the contact us button?

People might not wish others to know if they become mods and if their names are bandied here first might not be so willing to accept?

Just an idea :-)

Characteristics we like especially in mods is the ability not to get drawn into an argument, but to be able to stand back and explain their position rationally and without any serious grumpiness.
