Please, please can anyone tell me how to contact BT by E.mail or live chat? I know I shouldn't say it, but I just cannot understand them on the telephone, or even hear them for that matter, I have searched the site and all it does is tell me to phone them - arrrrggghhhh. TIA rosy

What do you want to talk to them about..............your bill, a techy problem etc?
Ouija board?

Seriously, I've tried myself to contact them any other way than by phone and had no luck.

All I can suggest is that you do call them and ask to speak to someone based in the UK as you just can't hear the foreign call centre workers properly.

I did do that and eventually got to speak to a lovely woman in Dumbarton.
iF it is the bill: [email protected]
In certain areas of enquiry they do have email and livechat..........
Easiest way I've found is to always go for the sales option on the phone.

they dont leave that in the hands of an indian call centre, then ask to be put through to a uk english speaker for whatever the problem is.
always works for me

Yes I know they have those facilities craft, I have used them both but just can't fathom how the heck I did it :o( It is to track my order, which was supposed to be activated 13th March, we know there is a problem with the height of our bungalow and phone wires, but looking online they just say that there is a problem but they will keep us informed, but ziltch! Rang them today but twice directed to the wrong department, and they said it will be April 4th. now. I asked her to email me the details, she said 'Yes of course, I am on the computer now and will send them immediately!!!' (3hours ago) We were on the phone 45minutes and I am losing the will to live. Trouble is we have to be ringing Virgin to extend our deal with them, and they are worse than BT to understand! Thank you for your replies and suggestions, maybe the ouiga might be my best bet 2sp_ -rosy
Good luck rosy!
I see what you mean rosy............the phone line is the only option for order tracking :-(
There is an email contact form here for order complaints?

I found it easier on Live chat, got my problem sorted by Jamil after waiting about 20 mins for someone to become available. BT are rubbish at customer service.
I know ayg.............my sister worked on BT customer service helpdesk and she retired early due to stress.

Thanks for replying, I have used chelle's link so hopefully will hear something soon -rosy

Just an update in case anyone is interested, I used chelle's link and emailed BT yesterday at 6pm and got a reply this morning at 11am, so am happy with that, and he gave me confirmation that they will connect me on April 4th as previously mentioned, don't know what they intend doing about the 'problem' tho',( a telegraph pole outside our house has been mentioned, but not very happy with that as there is already one directly opposite!!) I am really not very confident that they will be here on the 4th either.
Prudie, there was an address on the bottom of the e.mail,I don't know if that will be of any use to you but here it is:-
British Telecommunications plc
81,Newgate Street
London EC1A 7AJ
or can you try the live chat on AYG's link? Hope you get some satisfaction, I know how you feel.:o(

Yes WR count me in if you start it, but TBH what do they care about except themselves!! -rosy
