Problems Trying To Log In With Kaspersky Running?

If I exit Kaspersky I can log in to Answerbank ok, but when I have Kaspersky running it causes all sorts of problems,but running without security is 'dodgy' right?

There is now a fix that appears to work have used IE Chrome and Firefox Logging in, selecting profile, all work this will test to see if only one post is logged. It looks like there's a more up to date version out there - but maybe you don't get that with your Barclay's freebie?

I am willing to have a small wager that an up-date from Kaspersky is the cause of the problems. It wouldn't be the first time that such has happened and I recall a few years back Kaspersky issued a public apology for having messed-up matters in a similar manner.

Everything is alright so far as I am concerned. ISP is BT; PC loaded with Windows Vista and Laptop functioning on Windows 7. (Both protected by MSE.)

Allen's suggestion seems to be a good one for now, but ideally Kaspersky wouldn't interfere at all. No reply yet, as expected :)

I've been on to Kaspersky and they've tried to sort things by getting me to download and re-install 2016 version and getting me to install the certificate,then update & then reboot! I lost my connection to the internet,Windows updates wouldn't download & install and I had to 'fall back' on IE11 sitting in my Program folder to re-install Chrome!
I'm sick of Kaspersky and think I might dump it after all and start using Avast instead. I still still think something in AB is wrong though, but I wouldn't know what or where to start to look. If after dumping Kaspersky I am able to log-in with no problems with only Avast as my security the I suppose that could be Q.E.D.

For info and to further clarify Kaspersky version issues as others have pointed out:-

On a Windows 10 Pro PC, downloaded Kaspersky Internet Security for Windows Trial version which installed as version 16.0.0614(d), from:-

Connects to AB without any problems.

Invoked and installed the latest update 16.0.0614(e). On testing, connection fails when attempting to click / run any of the .PHP webpage script files that are associated with some of the AB web links, such as 'My Profile', 'Login' etc. (Edge, Firefox, Opera all fail).

Disabling any or ALL of the Kaspersky Protection modules, such as Web Anti-Virus, Anti-Banner, Firewall, etc failed to connect to AB.

Tried adding the AB website addresses www.theanserbank.co.uk and theanswerbank.co.uk to the Kaspersky trusted URL settings and that also failed to make the desired AB connections.

BUT, Pausing Kaspesky Protection did enable successful connections.

So, on checking a bit deeper into the various Kaspersky settings, discovered the only solution that worked for me required disabling Network Traffic checking on Port 80 (HTTP).

From that result it would seem to indicate Kaspersky is detecting some sort of WEb HTTP traffic coming from the AB servers that it thinks is an attack threat and stops the web traffic from reaching the Browser. Most likely the .PHP script activity.

To disable the Port 80 Network traffic check, performed the following:-

- From the Kaspersky Settings Panel, select 'Additional>Network(network settings)'
- Check 'Monitor selected ports only' and click 'Select...'
- Click 'HTTP port 80' and select 'Edit'
- Set 'Status' to 'Inactive' and click 'OK
- Close any open Web Browser (important) and then restart the Browser to test.


For Kaspersky analysis of the issue, there is the Kaspersky Support Tools available within Kaspersky Internet Security package to switch on tracing and produce reports to send to Kaspersky.
Identical problems, Grandpappy. Windows update seizes up, won't download; etc. etc. but my Kaspersky is the 2016 version installed (renewed) Feb. just gone. I've tried pausing Kaspersky, but makes no difference. Very annoying.

just tried what pinky suggested on w10..no luck only way im getting around it is using firefox plugin "zenmate vpn" it works for me until this problem is solved

When you pause Kaspersky it doesn't actually stop you have to disable "Self Protection" set the "startup type" to manual and then stop the process in "Services"

Oops, left off a piece of the instructions. Try this:-
