Naomi and jackdaw, just had a thought. When you are posting a question or new thread subject, You are filling in the question title box yes..... then you fill in the highlighted box with your full subject matter and point.... yes. But are you then CHOOSING A CATEGORY BEFORE POSTING THE QUESTION. The new site needs you to do this, unlike the old site that posted it in whatever category you were already in. Fingers crossed.

I have just posted a thread in Food and Drink.

I chose Food and Drink from the drop down menu.

I typed in the title box....Feeling lazy tonight.

I then typed in the bigger box which appeared after typing the title.

I then pressed submit.

I did not choose Food and Drink as a category again.....it just submitted successfully.

Righto Minty, I have not read every post, but I remembered being bemused on the test site a couple of times when a question disappeared into the ether. Hmmm is a strange one as they are on different browsers. I have recently just lost the net, we are having a right wind storm here.

Smoked Salmon, scrambled eggs and Blinis for me please Mints.

Easy that Mints. Only have to scramble the eggs and warm the blinis. Smoked salmon cold. Bit of white truffle oil in the scrambled egg.( I do mean a tiny drop) Lovely. Followed by a good cuppa tea with marmalade on toast. Just reminded myself of a real funny story.

Togo at 19:36, yes, on previous advice here I've done all that but to no avail. Hans has tried Internet Explorer 11 and encountered the same problem. We can type in the question details box but we cannot type in the title box. :o(

I think I might have to ask someone else to post the question I want to ask on my behalf. Any offers?

SlackAlice, changing will solve the problem for me but not for other people, many of whom use Internet Explorer. It needs to be sorted.

And I'm still having to type onto the image of a Japanese frog which occupies two-thirds of my text box and stares back at me as if to say, "Well nobody asked you to join", and as Ed disagrees with me on my support for President Trump, I fear I may be, to use Obama's phrase, "at the back of the queue" for attention.
