Welcome to the Editor's blog. Here is the place to ask questions about The AnswerBank.
As I’ve just asked a reasonable question asking about my thread, is there any chance it’ll get answered or is it just spite from an over zealous Mod?
Just asking because if this is deleted too you can consider it my last post on the site, just wanted a scintilla if common decency and manners, not much to ask.
As far as I'm concerned, anyone who doesn't want to know the result of a particular sporting event should simply stay well clear of social media (and 'interactive' websites, such as AB). However I don't think that having a post disappear is really something worth getting one's knickers in a twist about. I've just spent 10 minutes carefully putting together...
This "spoiler alert" garbage is just pandering to a small minority. CB is for chat about things that are happening now. If someone wants to watch something later, don't go trawling around social media. Anyway, the TdF result was known on Friday night wasn't it? What's the need for a spoiler alert?
If the 'spoiler alert' or the absence of it on a thread's title is so contentious can a mod, or the ed not just edit the title and let the OP know the reason why spoiler alert was inserted instead of removing a thread and upsetting the OP and getting these kind of threads, I know on another site I'm on, if you do something that's not ok with Site Rules they contact you to explain why you can't do whatever and why
Neveracrossword, the Ed hasn't posted on this thread, so how can you say the Ed clearly doesn't agree. What do you know that we don't? Are you the Ed? You are!!!!
Clarion, this thread contains at least three mentions of a post the Ed put up recently, during the World Cup - he/she specifically asked for results not to be put in title headings.
Ummm, you sound like one of those snowflakes. As I said before, the result of the TdF was known 24 hours ago. What problem is there with that? Where is the spoiler, 24 hours later?
Sorry, we can't find any related questions. Try using the search bar at the top of the page to search for some keywords, or choose a topic and submit your own question.
