May I ask if we will be regularly informed about donations. Not information of who has donated, but details of how much has being donated. And also what donations have achieved to help AB.

Thank you.

MissT, yes that was my first thought when I first came into the thread and saw the BA. Programmers are very expensive (I know I am one at the moment) but many are happy to do a bit extra for their pet projects and lets face it AB is never going to be in the Facebook league is it so a bit on non gratis even though its a 'business' wouldnt be a problem. I cant do it now as I have...

You may...
Since, as I understand it, only 71p in the £1 will reach AB coffers (I hope I've got that right), I can't help thinking the powers that be should have posted a question on AB to ascertain a more profitable method of payment.

There is so little detail about this. I wouldn't donate to anything without full details and the assurance of being updated regularly.
//as I understand it, only 71p in the £1 will reach AB coffers//

I think it is 77p. But hey...
Oh is it? OK. Thanks Dave. My point stands though.
I saw that but can't remember who posted it or know if the figure arrived at is right.
NAOMI, the "71p in the £1 will reach AB coffers" would be correct only if the donation were a pound.

There is a flat fee of 20p on top of a percentage imposed by Stripe for processing each payment so the higher the payment, the lower the percentage that 20p represents.

I used the example of a pound in another thread to query the claim the minimum payment of £2 is enforced because of fees.

I also pointed out that there is the option for the donor to pay the fees on top so that AB receives the intended amount nett of charges.
Anybody know?
I should have said, as others have pointed out, AB would receive 77.1p based on a donation of a pound.
Oh I see, Corby. Thank you for that. I still wonder why something more profitable couldn't have been arranged. A plain old bank transfer, perhaps?

I would still like more info on how AB proposes to improve things with what is raised and how membership could be boosted.

How much money does AB need to keep going?
I agree, Lottie. I would happily donate on a regular basis to help keep AB afloat - let's face it, we all like it - but I'm far from convinced that management is willing to change tack and fix what is broken.
We could all club together and buy AB!

Well appoint you as managing director Gully Would you like two new categories Boris and Brexit? ;0)
The link to my original post was to assist NAOMI.
We can all speculate but the only folk who can give us the information are the EDs or the new Boss.

It would be helpful and create a better impression if the Boss could spend some time addressing the points and questions raised in his own recent thread and those from others such as this one.
