in the News section and all from one poster - surely something has to be done about it or what is the point of even having the section?

The Troll who is posting there has killed the section.

yet another whingeing post on the editor’s blog complaining about gulliver… an individual user who as far as i can tell breaks no rules and posts regular questions in news of about the same quality as his detractors…
let’s get real… if gulliver was right wing and pro tory but otherwise acted just the same poster then none of you would be complaining about him… but he isn’t so suddenly you have a problem
the eds are of course free to ban whoever they like for any reason but i find it so very funny that so many people who whinge about “wokeness” and “snowflakes” are determined to get rid of a poster because he annoys them

I've clicked on a few times, seen that the posts are all from one person and almost always on one subject - and I've looked away. The problem is, untitled, that it's always the same subject and always from the same viewpoint. This has the effect of stifling discussion.
It really is killing/has killed the 'News' section and t.b.h. other sections are also suffering. I used to love AB. It brought different POVs and arguments in an intelligent way. Now it feels like tolerating my teenage grandkids and trying patiently to explain the art of discussion.

untitled: //"not putting up new posts" because of what gulliver might say? // - don't flatter yourself and him. I can't speak for the others but I don't post much in news because it's become a farce, full of Gulliver's grenade posts, never a debate, never is a follow up question asked, never a link provided. I just feel less enamoured to put my posts among the dross fest it has become.
By any dictionary definition gulliver is trolling.
Trolling is specifically mentioned in the Site Rules and regulations.
Why is he allowed to continue trolling?

indeed I have; but saying you don't post much in news is obviously counterfactual when 25% of the threads come from you. You deserve a badge

jno: "but saying you don't post much in news is obviously counterfactual when 25% of the threads come from you. You deserve a badge" - Where have I said that? I said " I can't speak for the others but I don't post much in news because it's become a farce" - Note the word become, yes I have been an avid poster but not so much of late as thus imparted.
