Cox's Apples
0 Answers
Can anyone corroborate whether my memory is reliable in the following matter?
I recall a TV advert for Cox's apples, I would guess in the early 90s, but I'm not sure, in which I seem to think the punchline was "It's not the plum in her mouth that makes her sound so fruity". It either added, "It's the apple" or just left it to the imagination to fill in the gap, with the clear implication of 'he he, we didn't say 'Cox' even though that's what we're advertising.
Visually, I don't recall much but have an idea it might have been a posh-sounding woman dressed very middle class - think Laura Ashley or twinset and pearls or something like that. Like something Jane Asher might wear.
I can't find it on YouTube, and it seems inplausibly rude but I'm sure that it (or something very similar) genuinely was on TV. Anyone else remember this?
