Look for a symbol that shows a coil of wire with 4 loops.
Or take a magnet with you, induction hobs works with magnetism. If the magnet sticks to the bottom of the pan, it's ok for an induction hob.
Sorry, not very tech - but it's what I did.

Every shop that sells saucepans has pans suitable for induction hob including supermarkets such as Tesco, Amazon and department stores like John Lewis.

Take a fridge magnet with you if it sticks to bottom of pan it will work on induction hob.

Most, except for the very cheapest pans are suitable. The auminium ones have steel bonded to the base.
The magnet test is infallible. If a magnet sticks it is fine but just read the label in the store or description on line.

Thank you I will take my magnet shopping ..

There is usually a label on saucepans telling you what they can be used on..

I bought a couple of cheap saucepans suitable for induction hob from B&M. Had them several years no problem xx

If you have a lot of non-induction pans it might be more economical to invest in one or more induction plates - these go beneath the pans and heat is generated in them.

Don't get copper bottomed , they definitely don't work. When we first got an induction hob  I had to replace all my pans, and they weren't a cheap brand either
