Your most hated advert on TV
Does anyone have an advert that makes them cross, angry, happy or sad.
The most annoying advert/s for me are anything to do with debt or loans. The most annoying one to date has to be that loan one when the man is being videoed by his wife while making the call to the loan company. He wants a loan for oh the small sum of 25,000 and is so happy and carefree on the phone and is all chatty and having a bit of banter with the person on the other end of the phone. GGRRRRRRR

What a great way to turn it around though 'littleoldme' that would work in a much more positive way as the other way makes you feel quite depressed.
I have enjoyed reading these, made me really laugh.
I HATE, LOATH AND DISPISE the 'don't worry its just a commercial/i'm not your sister!' ads, and any other loan shark ones. Also hate the 3 mobile ones, their meaning is where exactly?!?!
A good one was the one for cornflakes where the bloke woke up looking like a caveman in 630BC (Before Cornflakes), then becomes a modern man in the time taken to eat a bowl full. Also like the new polo (?) one with the updated 'singin in the rain' video, very catchy.
The new marmite one is HORRID!!
One of the best ads I've seen was the one where a ball starts rolling and knocks something else, then knocks something else and slowly it goes through all the components in whatever car they're advertising. The extended version at the cinema was about a minute long, and so well made. It must be a car theme, other good ones that spring to mind are the Citroen C4 one with the dancing transformer, and the Picasso one where the machine gulps.... very clever, very arty. Everyone wants that car!!
Why is it that people remember the ad, but not what its advertising? I know thats the point, to remember it, but no one remembers the product!!
The one for contact lenses along the lines of 'I climb very big montains but was too scared to try contact lenses'. Esp the way she bites her lip and looks all nervous - argghhh!!!
Any advert for hair products/ skin care that talk absolutely goobledegook and make up words to sound scientific. You ain't fooling anyone!
Dreadful jingles (Tresemme hair products? Thought it was a spoof!)
Good grief. Big Bazza must be spinning in his grave.
I HATE that advert when this couple are in a service station, she is in the driver's seat and he gives her a bunch of flowers. I'm not even sure what it's advertising - possibly car insurance? The bit that annoys me is the girl, instead of thanking him for the flowers she just pulls this horribly smug face as she drives off! I want to punch her!
Whats with the Tresemme shampoo ad? It's cheap and nasty and the 'hairdresser' says "Look at you!" to a couple of bimbo's! Arrrrrrrrgh. The music is rubbish too.
I love the Muller ad with that Nina Simone track, really upbeat and feel-good.
I totally agree about the "ambulance chaser" insurance ads and any ad where they ask the viewer if he/she is in debt and then tell the sad punter how by using their services he/she can get even further in debt.
That male person in the Tresemme hair products ad! arghhhhh!! If I could murder someone and get away with it that person would be my number one choice for victim.
I've saved the worst to last though.
THE POT NOODLE HORN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This ad is supposed to be rude in a "Carry On" film sort of way but it isn't. It's just plain rubbish. If the Pot Noodle people think an ad that viewers either enjoy or hate can be good advertising, they're wrong. I will never buy a Pot Noodle again. (I only bought one once to see if it was a bad as I'd been told - it was).
and the bmw 1 series with that crap 80 electric soundtrack, some of the smug gits who drive toyota avevsis'- fussy mom-in law." i didnt say what i did"
and to think someone was paid to think these ideas up and create the ads
There is a common theme here. It appears that no-one has ever made an agreeable advert for insurabnce of any kind. Take for instance the AA and the really annoying tracksuited bloke who dances around by the postbox because he wants to retrieve his forms. The terrible acting of the couple in the Direct Line advert, particularly the one where she suggests putting the car through the car wash. Could the makers not see that they had not actually employed actors for this advert, and having seen how bad they were, why did they make more.
Having said that I quite like the one with Kev and Bev etc and I don't mind Churchill.
Finally, The original Extra advert from the Halifax using a vatriation on the Tom Jones hit was good. It should have stopped there, everyone they have done since then is complete tosh.
I could go on all day but alas I must go to work.
The ad for one of those yoghurty drink type things - the one where mum says she feels a bit bloated, then daughter says something like "Yes, I get that. That's why I drink new Frootysludge. Frootysludge has a unique culture called Moronicus Sillibugga which can help relieve trapped gas (i.e. it makes you toot like a trumpet at embarrassingly frequent intervals) and can stop you feeling bloated".
As if any daughter talks to her mum like that. Then, mum (the scamp!) scuttles off with the whole box of Frootysludge, leaving daughter to smirk and shake her head in that way THAT ONLY EVER HAPPENS IN ADVERTS!! Aaaarrrrggghhhh.
I loathed that cringesome Radox "I am what I am" advert with the girl in the shower at the end who has a high voice and who shakes her wet hair and laughs.
And those equally dreadful Herbal (or URBAL as the ad was American) Essences shampoo ads with the "got the urge to urbal" slogan. Both are totally pants.
One I dont think anyone has mentioned is the ones for Yes Car Credit.. Don't get me wrong, I'd gladly chat up the cute blonde girl..but the ads are crap and I find it astonishing that a company who is so dodgy (as per Whistleblower on BBC1 on Wednesdaynight , and various appearances on BBC's Watchdog) is still allowed to advertise. Why don't they just make a new advert.."Come to Yes Car Credit and get ripped off"... cut out the middle man....
I also hate the one with the mum talking to her daughter advertising some type of yoghurt, the one litleoldme said. As if if you asked some one how they were they'd ask 'fine I just feel a bit bloated', the actings also really bad in that advert.
The one advertising contacts when the girl takes her boyfriend to meet her mum is incredibly boring also.
Despite working for Asda, I absolutely detest the Asda ad with Sharon Osbourne on .... "keep putting the chipolaties on Latoya" ..... "oo these will keep the kids quiet for a couple of weeks" ..... "all this for as little as this?!"... and finally, upon groping the greeter bloke's backside on the way out and stating "old but firm" - that is just perverse!!!
Having said that ... the Tesco ads with the old dear - whatserface ... can't remember her bl*8dy name - mind gone blank - her from Fawlty Towers - they drive me crackers - and so does she!!!
Like the majority of the rest of you, i'd have to agree that the most annoying sort of advert seem to be those of both insurance and loans.
I especially hate the way that, on one of the halifax adverts, they take the mickey out of the sailing building in the short film before Monty Python's The Meaning of Life. Grrrrrrrrr :@
It all just makes you want to give your TV a good kick!
1. Cars, football stadium, "Hey Baby" soundtrack. So annoying I change channels before even seeing what car brand it is.
2. Wanadoo - the moshing rockers "Walls can't stop you"
3. Audi - annoying industrial techno noise that reaches a throbbing peak at the end of the ad.
3. Grow Up? car ad - boring executive types playing noughts and crosses with red and white cars to twee French-perfume-ad-style soundtrack.
