Dog ramp

Our shar pei is 12 now and needs help to get into our Citreon Picasso back seat, we need a ramp but not a narrow one I dont think he would go up it, it would need to be wide, I have been on the net but the price is about £69, can anyone recommend one a bit cheaper pls but not e bay last time I used e bay there was problems plus the cost of postage from e bay would be enormous.
any suggestions pls, we are not mean and love our pet but we are OAPS on a budget.

My nan used to have one of these for her lab and my dad made it for her. its really simple thing to make it didnt take him more than a day if i my memory is correct. Have a look at the expensive designs and adapt it?

JJ thanks for the idea, I have my bro-in-law coming to stay for the weekend and he is pretty handy could ask him anyway, I have been on the websites suggested and the reviews have said they were rubbish and not usable, just got to be a bit careful with the pennies these days.

I've got one that jules gave me, it would be ok for a medium size dog. Mine soon learned to walk up it - just guide him up on the lead a couple of times.

There is a gentleman down the road who has a GSD who is obviously struggling to get into his 4 x 4, which I have to admit is rather high. He has a small wooden table (which is obviously quite strong) covered in rubber, which he places by the side of the car, the dog climbs onto the table first, then into the boot.

Dee sa, i assume your in the uk? My nan doesnt have her lab anymore i could see if they're still using it and see if it could be sent to you? Or at least ask my dad how much it cost him the first time to make it.
