She makes grumbling sounds, not growls, when she has 'seen off' an invader from her seat by the window. So funny.

my dog Minnie had growling lessons from our cat Violet Ellizabeth Bott, the cat was on the bed growling at the dog below and the dog was learning to imitate her it was so funny to watch, before that the dog never ever growled now she does.

DaisyNonna lol, the beard belongs to the husband. Dog lies on his chest and nibbles at it, he's done it since a pup. He seems to think it's his right and gets quite annoyed and if he's not allowed. He'll put his head down flat, stare at husband and grumble whilst wagging his tail furiously and if no response he'll let out a sharp yap. Husband says OK and dog leaps into action nibbling away like a little canine beard trimmer. I think they both enjoy it really.

Rough Collies definitely attempt to 'talk' as opposed to grumble, one of mine gets louder and louder if we ignore her.
