I had an aquaintance who applied for a position as a sales representative with a pet food manufacturer.
He told me that although it was well paid, with the perks of a BMW car he refused the job. They told him that they were so happy with the quality of their products that they expected all their direct sales staff to eat a tin of it so that they could reliably recommend it to their potential customers.
I have been told that many people who are living 'rough' eat dog and cat food as it is very nurishing, and cheaper than anything meant for human consumption, I sort of beleive it, but not convinced.
My mother, a dog breeder, used to boil sheeps' heads for the dogs, in the kitchen. The smell was sickly, but worse was that the heads would appear, as they were lifted by the boiling water, 'peering' over the edge of the pan. Very unnerving for a child, as the heads pushed up the lid.
We have tried fresh lung with our hounds and they wont touch it,it is a strange texture, very watery and pappy, they wont even touch it if minced with other meats. we never dried any though.
