He is a certified pest controller and he did move beds, furniture etc and sprayed everywhere, I have a leaflet that he gave me and told me not to hoover for 10 days, and yes been emptying hoover outside straight in bin bag and into bin. He usually charges £42 but because I had previously bought treatment from the vets he only charged £30 and second time he didn't charge me anything, he also gave me a light/sticky pad for a couple of days and was to place in kitchen where dog sleeps over night, over the 2 days it only had 6 fleas on sticky pad
None of carpets have carpets below.
Would you suggest anything else I can do

You would if you had my experience with it RATTER, and my neighbour here, plus many other people who have posted on this site about it not working. If you google FL not working you will see there are many many people complaining about it. My vet refuses to prescribe it he has had so many complaints.
Having said that, it still works for some animals but not all, so why waste money by taking the risk? It worked for mine for many years and I thought it was brilliant but it doesn't work now and I had a nightmare to get rid of the fleas plus a poor demented cat and dog. RIP from the vet sorted my home out after about 2 weeks of spraying BUT I live in a small flat. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. ADVOCATE or STRONGHOLD, both very good.

Alid, the fleas will be coming off carpets, furniture etc onto your dog but will then be killed by the flea treatment (if it's working). It's a nightmare and I know just how you feel, I was the same. My neighbour and I kept putting more and more FL on our animals not realising it wasn't working and then I got curious and googled it and of course saw we were not alone. I know some people on here are still OK with it but it caused me such a headache I'm still mad about it now and it was two years ago! I try to warn people but if they won't listen what can you do. I do hope you get it sorted soon for all your sakes.
alid5 I'm a little concerned at the price, I was certainly amongst the cheaper of the pest controllers and I was charging £65 for anything up to a 3 bed house and £75 for a four bed house and that was 10 years ago. I could not have treated a house effectively for any less and if I had to carry out a free re-treatment I was virtually out of pocket.
I would suggest that the price he has charged is suspiciously low.
I may be wrong.

I find it very strange that a professional Pest Controller is using a domestic spray can flea killer, surely he wasn't spraying the house with it, a £16 can probably isnt enough to treat one room. I certainly wouldn't of used the Bendiocarb based Ficam W, (great for ants though) I would have sooner gone for a Permethrin based chemical. I cant help but find this all a little suspicious, is he a member of the "BPCA" British Pest Control Association? I would suggest that you give it a few more days and then call in another Pest Controller who is a member of the above association.
dotty. In all fairness that would not be practical in most homes and would certainly put all the prices up by 300% due to the time involved and was never included in any training or advised with any of the products. However I would have soaked all the edges in the products I used, the edges of the carpet are the areas to pay particular attention when treating a house.
I haven't read all the answers so I apologise if anyone else has suggested this, but when my dog got fleas from visiting with my ex and his flea-ridden cats (that's another story), the only thing that gave the dog any relief, and seemed to finally get rid of them was rubbing the infected areas with baby oil (it was the Johnsons one with aloe vera, whether that made any difference i don't know). He'd got quite sore skin from scratching so much too, but it really did seem to help hi, and obviously ta new flea collar at the same time. good luck wiht it -they drive themselves into a frenzy with it poor things x
I presume you have washed his bedding?
How about using a flea bomb.

And bathing your dog in a good flea shampoo that also protects against ticks and mange, and then using a daily natural supplement - see links.
