Stray Tom Cat

Handsome stray cat turned up here in March, very friendly, been feeding him (of course) and he's been living in the g/house. He's been able to sprint from the g/house to the kitchen door within seconds of hearing me turn the keys to unlock the door at about 6.30 am.

Recently he's been trying to stay in the house as it's getting colder, spraying could be a problem so arranged with vet to get him down to the surgery any time after 7.30am any weekday for neutering. Didn't mention this to him but decided to take him on Thursday am. Got up at 6am, primed the cat basket all set to grab him and head for the vets. No sign of him, shouted, whistled, clattered tin of food, still no cat!

2 hours later still no sign of him! Decided to abandon the attempt but when I opened the door there he was!

Did he know what I was planning to do? But, it wasn't too late to take him for the chop, he's had the op and is fine now. Was this feline ESP?

Cats seem to know who will be kind to them.

They can be uncannily prescient.
Then again, he may have been distracted by another catflap down the road.
Thing is they never mention what they've been up to, the little sods.

My little angel has to go the vet about once a month for a steroid jag. Strangely he goes missing once a month too. My two are indoor cats and I would have thought that I would be able to locate a cat in a normal sized house. But I have seen me tearing the place apart and then being forced to cancel the appointment at the vet - then from behind me I hear "meow".

They know what you are thinking ............. be afraid!

Of course he's living with us now Ladybirder, he's asleep on one of the kitchen chairs at the present!

Very few houses round here where I live, suspect he was dumped on the country road.

Even the vet said what a handsome fellow he is!

I had one lovely girlie who knew if I even thought about the flea and tic drops - literally, off like a shadow if I thought 'ooh she could do with a dose'....
They know much more than we give them credit for.

corylus - just a word from the wise - castrating doesn't stop spraying. Our Rover still sprays when he gets anxious...... We kep a can of Neutradol spray handy, very effective!

Good on you corylus. I came across an abandoned kitten one day and decided to take it home. Sadly, it died.....17 years later.

Rover's like that, bill, in the "lovely" department - he marks when he's anxious.
