Latest Update On Puss.
37 Answers
Started new thread as I suddenly thought no-one would realise there was another update although I have also posted on last posting.
7am this morning, Puss suffered an aortic blood clot (saddle thrombus)which caused his remaining back leg to paralyze. He was crying out in pain. I rang the out of hours vet and immediately drove to the vets surgery. She confirmed my fear and she gave Puss a strong painkilling injection with the drug heparin to follow. At 12.30 lunch time the vet rang to say Puss's condition had deteriorated and was on oxygen therapy. She said his prognosis was poor. We, hubby and I, decided the best thing for Puss was to have him put to sleep which is what we agreed. Both hubby and I are distraught. Puss had got over the hurdles of the past few months and was doing really well, even chased a butterfly this morning. I am finding this difficult to post but I thought you would all like to know. Thank you all for your previous posts and good wishes & purrs. xx.

As I write there is a tiny scrap of a little black and white kitten snuggled in beside me, his mother was abandoned when she was pregnant and little more than a kitten herself. One day, when you are ready there will be another furry friend for you somewhere, and when you least expect it. I said we weren't going to have any more ..... now our "tribe" now comprises five (four and a half until Teddy grows up)
you and your puss will be in our thoughts tonight.
lots of hugs and purrs

nungate, Owzel and Meg, thank you for caring. It would be easier to accept had he not got over the hurdles of the last few months but he was really doing well. I will have to now go to bed without him, but he will be there in my thoughts. Goodnight and thank you to each and everyone for your caring words. xx.
Thank you vodkancoke, boxtops, DrFilth and seekeerz. Your contributions to this and previous posts are much appreciated. Well that's the first night over, just seems pointless getting up, Puss always pawed the side of the bed to get me up then jumped over me dared I to stay in a bit longer. Having said that he was very patient and very laid back, I could do anything with him including giving him his twice daily heart medication. We will both miss him so much.
Thank you jakep, I do hope we did our best for him, I don't think we could have done anymore. The last few months we nursed and coaxed him to regain his confidence walking on 3 legs which he adapted well to. It came as a huge shock when he had the blood clot, but at least his suffering didn't go on too long and he was happy until that moment.
