Fingers Crossed, Adopting 2 Cats.
29 Answers
Not sure if the time is right but have been to a local RSPCA centre this afternoon. It is 9 months since we lost puss and I miss him so much. Over 40 cats of different ages and sizes, how do you choose. We decided on two boys aged 2 years and although not related needed homing together. They were rather subdued and a little nervous as one had been micro-chipped this morning. Just waiting for a home check in next couple of days and if all goes well may get them over the weekend. I am quite excited and hope that we are doing the right thing by giving a home to two.

Maybe get a Felway plug in to calm them, and as long as they know where the litter box and feeding area is they will be fine. As a previous owner you know not to let them out for a few weeks. Good luck.
Well, we have our two little boys home. We passed our home visit yesterday and picked them up early afternoon. Very timid but coaxed them round with a meal. They scoffed it as if they hadn't eaten before. They ventured from the kitchen into the lounge where they stayed under our sideboard watching our every move eventually coming out and investigating the rest of the lounge. Didn't take too long before they played with their toys. We kept them in the kitchen overnight to avoid any accidents so they could get used to the location of the litter tray. Still very wary of us this morning but given time I am sure they will settle and enjoy their new home.
16 varieties of cat food......yes I think it will not be too long before you become like the rest of us slaves...the desperate searching for a brand they will not turn up their noses at, the muttered prayer before you set down the bowl, the desperation when they saunter away holding their noses in the air, the final resort when you open the can of tuna steak or defrost the prawns you have been saving as a treat for yourself.
My two from cat rescue have been living here for about 8 months, thankfully I am not at the tuna stage just yet!
All the best, I sure they will settle in very well and love living with you!

Thank you for your interest and advice pasta and sue11. I am sure these two can't be as fussy as last one. He seemed to only like 2 brands and certain flavours, then when the manufacturers stopped making the flavours he liked I had one hell of a job trying to find something he would eat. These so far seem to be so hungry they will eat anything I put down. Hope it continues that way.
