Lost Puss This Morning

Hi all.. lost our girl this morning.... terrible shock..although she was 11 yrs old.. she had a terrible tumour... in-operable.. so on dicussion with the vet....we all thought.. was the best option.. she was really poorly...: - ((((((... we still have her brother.. do we need to do anything to help him now? he seems ok.. but is wandering about looking for her... but doesn't seem too distressed... and is eating!!... thanks for any input! Please accept my deep sympathy on your loss of Puss. You know you did the best thing for her.
In an ideal world it helps a great deal if the surviving pet can be with the deceased for a short while. He will suffer grief the same as you. He will learn to live with it, as will you, eventually. It's not easy.

Just make an extra fuss of him, he will miss her as well as you. I'm told you should show the remaining one the dead body but it was too late by the time I was told that when it happened to one of mine. Sorry about this sad news crisper.

Sad news for you all but far better than any prolonged suffering.

I have never had cats but I presume just make a little extra fuss of brother and am sure he will settle.

So sorry crisper, Just remember she had a loving home and a good life and she is still with you. I still say goodnight to my moggie although he left us last September. Your girl is still with you but not in any pain now x

It's horrible to lose a pet. I am sorry to hear about your cat being put to sleep. Give the other cat a bit more attention now. I hope you feel a bit better soon.

I feel for you crisper. I no longer have cats, the heartache of losing them was too much to bear to go through it again.

Sorry crisper to hear your sad news. I also say goodnight to my boy who we also lost September last year. It is hard and we miss him more than anything, he was special as yours would also be. You did the right thing in the end, she is not suffering anymore. As to her brother as others have already said, fuss him and give him lots of cuddles.

I am sorry to hear about your little girl cat. It is good that she is no longer in pain. You are right to be concerned about her brother but cats are pretty tough and, hopefully, he will be okay.

t is possible that your boy cat knew something was wrong, dogs can sniff out cancers and cats know that anything a dog can do they can do better - if they can be bothered. :-)

It is strange how such a small animal can wrap themselves around our hearts. I have a boy and girl littermates. They hate each other.
