Sandy, I've no idea why, but when mine rolled in Fox poo a while ago a fellow Ab'er gave me a brilliant tip to get the smell out (and yes, it worked) - rub in tomato ketchup or passata into the fur, let it sit in the fur for about 20 mins (dog will need to stay in the garden for a bit), then rinse out. Worked a treat

Could be that she has found herself a boyfriend and is trying to impress him by smelling nice.

Seemingly Fox Poo is a favourite. The human version of a scent/perfume like that would cost you lots of money!

I hope not. I couldn't be doing with the patter of tiny paws, not at my time of life.
Nor the splatter of tiny poos, Sandy.
Dogs love it especially fox poo. OMG, that's quite eye watering smell !!
This is common activity in dogs, especially bitches. It is supposed to be an instinctive, den protective behaviour from when they lived in the wild. The smell of the fox poo would fool foxes and other predators from disturbing the nest. It's the most revolting smell and Peaspeculiar's tip about rubbing in tomato sauce before shampooing is the best way to get it right out.
I only use Lea & Perrins Worcester sauce, will that do?
