Yes I know you still fill it with treats, but hopefully it might take a while to extract them from it and save your sanity a bit!
Sometimes it might just be boredom. Frankie is on steroids for his asthma and is always hungry. I try to distract him by playing with him - with very limited effect.

Try filling up a treat dispensing ball of treats and let him/her chase it around to release sweets. I think that they also double as human killers, I tripped over one on the way down the stairs a few times.

I just ignore mine.

He had one of those food balls when he was younger but took no notice of it as he got older! I could try it again I suppose. Thanks Boo.

Think it is boredom most of the time. He doesn't go far anymore except back garden. He just wants my attention all the time and food! I have to be cruel to be kind. I do try to ignore him. I usually put him out back door, then he's meowing at window!
I had an attention seeking cat. I adored him. He'd do horrible things though. He'd sit at the front window meowing to get in. I'd let him in and he'd run upstairs and jump out the bathroom window. 5 mins later he'd be back meowing to get back in.

I love him so much even though he drives me up the wall sometimes! Fascinating and funny creatures. You're right Wolf63, they can also be a danger to your life. I' ve nearly tripped over him a couple of times going down the stairs!
I'm forever tripping over mine, and the dog.

I've also lost count of the number of rooms and cupboards ive accidentally shut her in too!

Ahhhh, there's a thought...any big cupboards? ;-)
I tumbled dried my cat once!!!

Ha ha... RSPCA comes to mind!....
I know, I've accidentally shut mine in kitchen cupboard a couple of times and wondering what the banging was! My husband shut him in the shed once while we were out shouting his name late into the night. I thought maybe just maybe he might be in shed. As I unlocked door he flew out like a rocket!
Patsy - has he tried convincing you that cats starve if they aren't fed during the night?

It is hard to ignore someone who is punching you and howling.

Oh god, nothing like that! Poor you!
They pester because "pestering" has already worked for them! I've learnt that from experience. Our rescued tabby, who is now spoilt rotten, will still try wailing for food at every opportunity! I do a loud "aa haa" and go "no!" loudly! Just walk away from them and do something else! They will huff like mad,but we all live with that;-)

Yes, I'm going to have to be firmer with him. They are very clever animals, they know how to work us, although most of it is brought on by ourselves. Thanks Bunkmoreland.
