My cat should be skinny

Well-what with just eating the jelly (or gravey) in whatever cat food I buy she shouldn't be the big moggy she is. Why do cats do this? do yours?

I used to mash the meat with a fork, only put a small amount down at any one time, if it gets eaten and you get that look that says 'are you TRYING to starve me to death?' then put another small amount down, the cat will then walk away saying....'fooled you!' 'didn't really want anymore', I love cats, they are so unpredictable and not to mention aloof!
Tiggy and Bluey only ever eat the gravy or jelly. I get them Felix as good as it looks but I am getting fed up as its such a waste. I'm trying them on the tesco pouches now and they still only lick the gravy but at least its a bit cheaper. They seem to prefer crunchy stuff though. They like Wiskas, Iams, Ultima and Lidl crunchies in the foil bag.
Tigger is still a bit overweight despite what she eats or doesn't eat. My vet told me to lower her intake but then she will only go and eat Blue's leftovers!!!

I have one cat who is thin (no health problems) and eats like a horse and the other who, like yours, just licks off the jelly and weighs a ton! I have found that they will both eat the Sheba foils (but only terrine). Daisy (the big one) also won't eat fresh fish or meat but she will eat potatoes and gravy!
