Boxer dog with itchy skin
I have a eight month old boxer puppy who has really itchy skin. There are no bald patches or anything like that, just the skins red from where she's been scratching at it. Also her ears inside are red and slighly inflammed in places. This is my first dog and dont really know how best to treat it. Should I be taking her to the vet or trying something at home first??

Do you bathe her often? If so, dogs shouldn't be bathed all that often as it strips their coat of natural oils and might make their skin dry.
It might be nothing, but better safe than sorry, if only to ease her discomfory.
Let us know how she gets on!

i have a boxer to but she is 7 ,she also scratches too it getts really anoyying i have already taken her to the vets and she has nothing at all wrong with her what i found is that if you wash your dog with a certain soap or shampoo or even conditioner it iritates the skin ,boxer dogs have a more dense and more irritant type of skin compared to other dogs !
what i found is its better to rub a bit of human bodt lotion all over there body just before and after you shower him/her it helped me alot and my dog hardly scratches any more !
if you have a go give me a shout to tell me how you got on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
good luck !
