A vet: of course not. Cats, as people, have their own personalities and preferences. She wants to be let out so be it.......I own three cats, and they're all different and I like it that way.........enjoy them.
Try tempting her outside by leaving her food bowl on the other side of the door. Some cats are "house cats" anyway, but depending on whether you had her from a kitten, maybe she's just responding to prior teaching before you had her? Let someone pull a piece of string through the flap, and then try to usher her through when she chases it. I doubt if the vet needs to see her - except perhaps for further suggestions on what you might do to train her.
aww bless ur fluffy friend. Keep trying to get her outside, or if not she may be trying to tell you she'd rather be a house cat! wee thing! xx
Keep all cats in.....imprisoned - dont let them out till late summer when eggs and hatchlings have flown. They disrupt wild birds too much. Cats with gongs on can go out.
It may be that the flap has frightened her at some time, perhaps it caught her tail or something. Or, there may have been a neighbouring cat out there that frightened her. It's only a problem if it disrupts your life to the extent that you feel you can't keep her. If you can live with it don't worry about it, she's happy after all.
Like people all cats are different. It could be she finds the cat flap difficult or uncomfortable to use. It could be that she wants you to wait on her!!
i agree Sandmaster. Our cats play up to my wife something terrible and she is too daft to realise. Cats are very intuitive.
I think the same as the others really, thought she may be scared to go outside because of another cat.

My cat used to chew all the hair off from between his legs and didn't wana go outside. We had to push him out to go to the loo and then wait by the back door for him to come running back.

Vet said he may have been terrorised by another cat outside and therefore was self harming seems a bit weird I know, but when we satrted to keep him in more all his fur grew back.

Cats do have their own personalities. Bless them
