In such a delicate area, i would pop to the vet. You wouldnt want to risk pulling anything that is not a tick when it is on her eye- and the doc will be know the best way to get to it of it is a tick.
I was told to grab the body & twist it sharply as you pull it out , to make sure you get the legs out . I did it by hand but not near his eye . I'd think you she'd be OK if you did it quickly
If it is a tick it will start off qute small and grow as it takes blood. Depending where it is I've removed them like they used to do leeches , touch it with hot cigarette or I've done as you did used teezers and somthing acid (I use after shave) what ever you do be very care full especially about her eyes as if you leave any of the head it can cause a nasty ulcer. If youve any doubt take her to the vets and hve them remove it

i think as she seemed distressed from me trying to remove it i will take her 2 the vets.she doesnt do things by halves she gets things in the most awkward of places lol but i wouldnt swap her for the world
thanx all :)
have lived in Africa for a thousand years and we had ticks all the time - the usual solution was to smear them with vaseline -they can't breathe and therefore either die or drop off. The problem with ticks is either if they get embedded or the head breaks off if you try an detatch it manually - either way you get an infected area. Forget the idea of dabbing them with a lighted cigarette- too many dogs have been injured this way. If you don't feel confident with the above - take her to the vet - the tick is in a delicate position and you may do more harm than good - also, it may not be a tick - could be a small growth.
Good reply Carmalee.
