Gypsy sounds great, but you may soon start to call her by a nickname anyway dependant on how cute she is looking or how badly she is behaving!
Both my female cats came from rescue centres and soon settled in, making their needs which there were many, known to me. They already had their names Bandit (now sadly now longer with me) I think must have been named bacause of her black eye patches and Ozzie, but I have no idea where that name came from! The names seemed to suit them so I did not change them.
I had a cat some years ago that we thought was a boy (no I did not check the back end to see!) and named it Turbo due the speed of him running around but then the vet informed me that he was a she, so it got shortened to Tubs. That name definately suited her, given her eating habits!
