Microchip Cat Flap - your experiences please
10 Answers
We are considering buying one of these.
If you own one, please could you tell me which brand you have and would you recommend it?
I am concerned that the microchip will not open cat flap if one of my cats tries to bolt through the cat flap at the speed of light!
Many thanks

Is there any way - or has anyone already thought of this - that the cat flap could be activated by the cat's individual tracking microchip which is under its skin? I used to have magnetic catflaps but the cats kept losing their collars and the magnets were chunky, and when Rover nearly hung himself on his collar, I got rid of them. However all three cats are ID-chipped. I guess it wouldn't work with multiple cats - the decoder would have to recognise several chips - but it's a thought!
