Slight dog problem. Would appreciate any advice or information.
My dog got on my bed this evening and helped himself to the chicken bones on a plate that I had just finished. I nipped out to the bathroom and he was right behind me. He must have sneeked back to the bedroom.
I need to know if they will cause him any damage as I am very aware you should not give dogs or cats chicken bones. he doesn't seem to be ill at the moment and he ate them about 40 to 50 minutes ago. He hasn#t ever helped himself to anything I have left on the bed before. I guess my sons chicken cassarole was to hard to resist.
Thanks for your time.

Yes i agree with Zacsmaster just keep an eye on him normally they can get lodged in the windpipe as soon as they have been consumed so if he seems to be ok now then he will probably be ok.

Just don't let him have bones again or sticks for that matter as they can do the same thing, splinter etc and end up costing you thousands to get removed through an operation. If you haven't got insurance it can be expensive.
My dog ate an entire cooked chicken once but was fine. I suppose by now you know if there are any adverse effects. I know it's dangerous, but it's down to luck I guess.
I think your dog would be fine. My family always give their dogs bones.
