Pixie my 9 year old cat has got sore eyes they're quite pink and his white eye shields are staying part way across his eyes for a bit when he opens them. I'm wondering if it could be hayfever, he's always had sensitive eyes but only usually after he's been frontlined. ANy ideas, I've tried bathing them?
could it be conjunctivitis. Our vet said to bathe eyes with cold tea bags.It really does
work. But if your not sure, or it gets worse I'd take him to the vet.
The pollen count has been really high for the last few days so it could be hayfever. You could try him on a child of Piriton [and yes it is safe].

any time that a cat's eyes 'second' lid are not opening all the way is an indicator of many illnesses - not just hayfever. dehydration, viruses etc are very common and can quickly harm your cat if you do not seek vetinary advice. do not waste time by posting on here, make an appointment asap...x
No, he's not been to the vet yet as he seems to have improved, I got some eye lotion from the petshop and I'm pretty sure its hayfever, there's definitly nothing else wrong with him, he's eating (like a horse) and drinking OK but if he gets worse I'll take him. He gets a bit traumatised going to the vet, they took out all his teeth and broke his jaw doing it a few months ago so I don't really want to stress him out.I'll see how he goes
