We're going away for 7 or 8 days, so need a week long dissolving fish feeder block.

1) where's the best place to get them from,

2) what size should i get, for a goldfish and 6 littleuns for a week? or does it say on the pack, for various lengths of time and amount of fish?

I get mine from the pet shop but Tescos used to sell them so probably any other supermarket might sellf them.

We have one huge goldfish and another normal size and the one week block does them fine -for one week- as theres always some left.

We use them all the time as we are away quite often and they so far have worked a treat.
Block feeders will send the water toxic. far better to do a water change just before you go then feed as normal. Fish can easily go a week with out food if you don't have any one who can come in and feed them.

Thats prob the reason that most of the block is left Lisa when we go away.
I agree people tend to overfeed fish-they only need a couple of flakes really.
(Hope youre OK hun BTW x)

ok then i'll risk it, i'll change some water just before we go and give them a reasonable size feed.
they can always eat any poo if they get too hungry anyhow!!
Don't overfeed, in the mistaken belief that you're compensating them either. As dive girl has already said ,those block feeders are just nasty. Your fish will survive ok for a week without feed.

Hi dris....am fine thank you...getting over my week of anniversaries, still a little tearful at times.it's the silly things that get me...Today is the Biggin Hill air show and I'd normally be on the phone to my dad asking him if he'd seen anything exciting, I sat in the garden this morning and cried because I couldn't ring him....soppy moo!
