I've just heard about this on the news, just look at this clip, if it's true it's hideous, and I hope they can identify this cruel, horrible woman and prosecute . The poor cat was in the wheelie bin for 15 hours according to the news report - just imagine what would have happened if it was dustbin day.
I'm curious, though, how this came to be captured on CCTV - do you think it's true? Media URL: http://blogs.coventrytelegraph.net/ladslounge/2010/08/woman-throws-cat-into-wheelie.html

I think you are wrong Eddie although in the BBC news website he appears to made more efforts to post the footage on the internet "within hours" ... strange.

You or I may not agree with the laws but we are required to abide by them. If you feel they are inadequate you have every right to challenge them with a view to change but not break them.

Oh and sorry there may be someone else who answers questions like me.
Not like you Captin exactly the same.
Having never come across you before Sylvestercat I can't really comment about you but plenty of members in chatterbank know who I am ... and if you are inferring I am posting as another over in news then you are greatly mistaken. I can't be bothered to read through some of the "crap" posted on their either so if want to give me any pointers i'd be highly amused to read them.
That woman should be shut in a bin for 15 hours as punishment.
Has somebody got hold of SylvesterCat as well?
"Media speculation that the woman is being given police protection is categorically not the case," it added.

"Community support officers are outside the woman's address monitoring a large group of people - most of them from the media - for public order purposes as per routine police procedure."

( most of them from the media )

They're talking about this on radio 4 at the moment, 300000 people have looked at the YouTube video so far. Extraordinary, how much feeling this has generated in the public at large.
She apparently did it because she 'thought it would be funny'. The owners didn't think it was funny, and neither did the poor cat I bet!

Can you believe this statement from the Coventry police about this awful woman: "She has not committed a criminal offence" - say, what? We seem to have laws for just about everything else but it is not a criminal offence to put a living creature in a rubbish bin!
Sorry if I'm repeating another post but I've only just heard about this incident.

Thanks for posting that link daffy - how the hell this woman thought a cat would "wriggle its way out" of a lidded bin with straight sides, nothing to grip on, is beyond me. It's her that's wriggling. Extraordinary.
OMG ... she's only 45 !!!!!!!!

That can't be right.

She looks about 65.

I'm 45 next year. I hope I don't suddenly start looking like that.
