someone has to do it though - I really wouldn't like to be a public toilet cleaner...
I was thinking about cleaning up after my dogs at 4.30 the other morning but that was because i was actually doing it. You would do it for a human if you had to i.e. your kids.
You get used to it, not pleasant but it doesn't bother you after you done it a few times.

It just helps to remind yourself that a few hours ago it was food, its just been digested. :-)
I spent ten years doing it as an auxilliary nurse...it's what comes out the other end that bothers me i.e.spit.... it's disgusting.
lol momac, in my work we have more problems with staff wanting to throw-up at the thought of clearing up vomit and saliva etc, no problem with poo though.
what if it was your child and they were disabled and unable to do anything for themselves or you had a partner who was in the same situation?
i never got used to it ratter... i had cats for 12 years and when one of them pooed (not very often) or was sick in the house I nearly packed my bags and left.... i used to pull my tshirt up over my nose...until the day i was sick down the inside of it :(((((((((

Mixed thoughts!! I agree if it was my child I would clean up, but I'm afraid I couldn't do it for an adult. I applaud all the people that can and do, do this work, but its just not for me.SORRY. Couldn't do what comes out the other end either...good job we are not all the same.
Poo I can cope with but sick? No way. I worked at a children's home and one night a kid projectile vomitted all up the walls of the bedroom - I was heaving as I had to clear it up. Dogs and cats are different though it doesn't seem to smell as bad.
Hi Ratter 15..I know one nurse who didn't mind cleaning anything up but there used to be an advert on t.v. showing sausages sizzling in the pan, that she could not watch for love nor money..strange isn't it.
I am with Lankeela on this. Dog poo - no worries. Human poo - bearable. Dog sick - not very pleasant. Human vomit - just the very thought of it makes me want to................... vomit!!!
The thing that makes me heave is phlegm.... (other people's, that is)
I have heard that too in the nursing community, boxtops; pee, crap, blood no issue, but then phlegm freaks them out.........
Reminds me of the old joke of an 80 year old man and his 70+ old wife going into see the Doc's (Sqad?)

The Doc: I need a sample of your urine, your faeces and your semen, Sir?"

The Old Man (hard of hearing), "What did he say? What did he say?"

The Doc: " I said that I need a sample of your urine, your faeces and your semen."

The Old Man: "I still can't hear him!"

His Wife leans over, "He needs your underpants, Honey."
