How bad are they?

Absolutely disgusting!!!

Does it depend on their diets?

Randy little things...
Dogs are weird, why do they make friends by sniffing each other's arse's? Don't think anyone would want to be my friend if humans had to do that!!
ummmm, you got me going again!!

Dogs on raw meat diets very rarely fart, even their poos aren't smelly. Before we started feeding raw, if one of the dogs farted we ran for cover, they stank but that stopped immediately we started feeding raw meat.
Eating sheep's poo doesn't help. Our two can clear a room in 5 seconds.
^^
with the size of his dogs, I'd bl00dy run as well!
Lol yes slackalice, two huge dogs like Ratters and you'd find a cure for dog farts quickly.
Our dogs love raw green tripe, straight from the slaughterhouse, I admit it does hummmmm just a tad and it doesn't do much for their fresh breath for an hour or so but it doesn't give them wind.
askyourgran, 3 big dogs and one little one :-) http://i106.photobuck...0Dogs/MeandHounds.jpg
If I leave the dog in the car when I go into a shop he a) turns on the emergency flashers b) toots the horn and c) farts..........
Goodness Ratter I thought you only had two, sorry. They look great but I expect it's a full time job to look after them.
askyourgran, yes it is near a full time job to look after them especially with our particular feeding regime that includes a lot of preparation daily << Carakeels job :-) well I cut up the green tripe and then its over to her :-) We consider ourselves very privileged to have such marvellous dogs and we consider it an honour to be able share our lives with these amazing creatures.
Cat fart is pretty rank too, especially when they steam one out...

I'm taking him for a walk and then taking him home :-( Lovely dog he is...and very well behaved considering he's only 24 weeks...
Thats a lovely pic ratter, cat farts are pretty awful, luckily its not to often with murph, i would however like to offer the beery/eggy farts i'm currently being treated to, up for considetation!
aw mcfluff, I sympathise!
I'm actually up doing housework (sort off) to get away from it
Alfie's no stranger to the odd bottom cough. Even he can't stand the smell - he gets up and walks out with a disgusted look on his face.
< Frank always leaves the scene of the crime rather quickly, which is understandable because he stinks so bad sometimes you can litrally taste them! Discusting bugger!
D97x7 I can see by that pic that actually butter wouldn't melt in his mouth, bless the little mite!!
:-) He might look sweet and innocent Ratter but believe me he isn't! My mate calls him 'orrible Ives because of the things he was intent on doing to his dog when it was a puppy. Let alone the noxious gasses he can generate most evenings.
Still love him to bits, wouldn't be without.
