When you are standing next to the sea and the sun is setting over the horizon why is it that the reflection always forms a line from the sun to your feet? If the sunlight is reflecting off the sea and into you eye why does it not reflect of *all* the ripples in the sea that are at such an angle to reflect into your eye? Why instead is it a line?

All the orangey appearance of the water is due to reflected sunlight, it's just a lot less intense than that from a more direct line to the sun.
