panniculitis in cats

My daughter's cat has been diagnosed with panniculitis - most likely cause a trauma - the cat was very ill initially but is now back home and on cortisone tablets. She's not a big robust cat like her siblings. Although eating well she seems to be unable to put on condition. I'd be grateful if any ABers have any experience of this condition my knowledge is very, very limited. I have googled it and got info from the web but would welcome any first hand info anyone has to offer. Many thanks.

thank you wolf63 - it seems there's very little first hand experience of this condition - looks like a big learning curve then!

I actually asked a vet via facebook and this is what he said -

I hope that your daughter's cat gets by okay with this illness and she manages to continue to do normal 'cat things'.

I never heard of this - poor puss. No 1 Son had a fatty lump on his back earlier this year which the vet removed surgically, I'm now glad that it was only one one. Hugs to your cat, rsvp.

thanks for the follow up wolf 63 - am going to try and get my head around it later today.
Boxy - kitty will receive you cyber hugs thank you kindly - think maybe there is a reason it wasn't surgically removed and am hoping that's good news. Daughter (and cat!) live abroad - I believe it's a very good veterinary practise so the cat's health is in good hands. will keep you posted as and when I have updates.
