Have just collared our local 'countryman' to come and look at some droppings I've found on my back doorstep for the past week or so. Had a suspicion what beastie was causing it and 'Old Jed' verified things. I have a little owl roosting over my back door! How lucky is that? well worth the clearing up each morning - the little pellets are fascinating, full of tiny bones, hair etc - am sooooo chuffed.

That's great, rsvp - consider yourself very favoured by the owl!

oh I do boxy - am so pleased he/she has chosen to roost over my back door - just hope birdie stays around.
wildwood - from your past posts you also have your fair share of wildlife - isn't it brilliant?
lucky you I love birds - only thing is our cat would not take kindly to a little owl roosting and it would be murder (literally) trying to keep him away so glad you are in a quiet area. Never know you might get babies in the Spring or whenever they nest.
Question Author
can't get around to sneaking up on said bird due to the layout of the property so no pictures I'm afraid and I don't want to scare it anyway - it looks as though he/she is perching high up on an old electricity conductor above the back door and as long as I continue to receive the regurgitated pellets on my doorstep I'll continue to feel very privileged indeed!.
Question Author
have just managed to sneak around the side of the house and saw the little owl very clearly - no chance of a photo though - he/she flew off after about 30 seconds. Brilliant!!!!!!!
I am extremely jealous, wish It was us, I'd be in heaven as i love little owls

I'm leaving well enough alone now I've actually seen it and look forward to finding the little pellets on my doorstep for a long time. And I do realise how lucky I am.
