Can dogs eat spicy food?

I got 2 cooked spicy sausages in tesco today but only ate one. I'd sometimes throw the neighbour's dog a bit of food if it comes looking. Would it be okay to give him the spicy sausage?

I don't think a spicy sausage will harm the dog, although like B00 says, it may have a pretty dire effect the other end.

I was going to say, what do dogs who come from countries that eat alot of spicy food eat, but then I thought, in those places they'd probably eat the dog.
Can't see one spicy sausage doing any harm to the dog myself.

I haven't seen him tonight, must have stayed in. I'm gonna have a few beers later on, so I'll probably end up eating it myself now. Cold spicy sausage, nice and filling.

Sorry to be the serious one here....but please don't feed food to an animal you don't know.
A long time ago my dogs would occasionally come in from the garden with cooked meat bones.....dangerous to a dog, I then found out my 'kindly' neighbour was tossing them over as a treat.
You have no idea of the dogs nutritional needs...if in doubt ask the neighbour or just don't do it.

Dog ate a takeaway vindaloo I'd placed on the floor by my armchair. Dreaded what might be the result. But no, everything was as normal next day.

Lisa, we don't feed him all the time, just the odd scrap. Not to worry.
