They are pretty - I hope that they live a long and happy fishy life.
I saw the following problem on the Telegraph website - Pete the Vet answers questions.
>>> My goldfish, Harry, is five years old and six inches long. When I was cleaning his tank recently, he swam up to my hand and pressed against it. Since then, I’ve taken to putting my hand in the water every day and he swims up to my hand, hovering close to me, almost like a dog waiting to be petted. Is this unusual?

Goldfish are sensitive, intelligent and social creatures who prefer to have company rather than be on their own. They’re born with an expectation of a social life, and if they’re kept on their own, they’re unable to fulfil their natural behavioural patterns, which can lead to frustration and even physical illness. Bizarre as it may sound, I suspect Harry enjoys the “friendship” offered by your hand. I’d suggest you purchase a couple of smaller fish to keep Harry company.
