4 ickle Axolotls!

They are si cute and lovely (although not everyone may agree!).

They are soon to be bigger Axolotls but they have plenty of room for growing in the very lovely tank we have set them up!

Has anyone else got any or ever had them as a pet?

We have bought the book and I have read it cover to cover however there is some conflicting stuff between what can be read online and in the book, but they seem very happy and are currently eating there Sunday lunch!

They are pretty - I hope that they live a long and happy fishy life.

I saw the following problem on the Telegraph website - Pete the Vet answers questions.

Evening you two!
They are fascinating to watch.

My fiances daughter was feeding them little bits of raw beef earlier and they were eating it out her hand and letting her stroke there heads! And we have just been to the fish shop and bought them some shrimps which theyare now enjoying. My OH is just sat there watching them lol!

Mine is called Gizmo, then OHs is Lefty (It has a dodgy left leg!) Then the kids are Rogan & Bale (after the footy player but apparently has to be said Bali to sound more foreign!)

My proudest moment...putting axolotl in triple word score in Scrabble. Nothing to do with the animals just thought I would share. They are indeed awesome little creatures. I hope they will be happy in contented in their new home..

I think if you an iodine to the water it causes them to change into Salamanders from what I read.

They can live for up to 15/20 years so a bit more long standing and in my opinion... certainly more interesting then fish! (No offence to any fishy fans out there!)

The set up wasnt cheap mind you, around £600 for the tank and cabinet and everything to go in it, but it is my birthday in a couple of weeks and is for the kids as well so got away with that one lol!
