Just found one of my boys dew claw or thumb nail as i call it lol...on the floor?

He has still two attached so it looks like its just a "shell" if you know what i mean.

All looks well! Im assuming this is normal!? Xx

Yes - well it is in cats. I panicked the first time I saw it happen but it seems to just be the nail/claw renewing itself.
As long as the actual claw looks fine and is'nt bleeding then I wouldn't worry about it. I hate dew claws my 2 have them and have both ripped them I wish breeders would get them removed.
I had the hind dew claws removed from my litter on vet's advice.
Yes quite alright with dogs. they do that often. as has been said as long as the ones he has are intact then all ok. Brenda x
