She was such a beauty. When she was first brought in, she looked so broken spirited. I was overjoyed when she made a full recovery and found a new mum and dad. She looked so happy when the three of them walked off.together.

Someone pass the Kleenex...
This programme is a must see for me. I love the way he cares so much about animals and I bet before it's all over he takes another dog home, the boxer maybe? Poor little Sparkle, but it all ended happily for her thank goodness. Love this show, love Paul ......
Just seen it on record, although it was very sad with sparkle, I had seen cruelty cases like that before and far worse, but so glad she found a new forever loving home,.........but I think paul will end up rehoming the bull dog.

I shudder to think of cases worse than that one, Josephine. :o(
yes mrs.chappie, I found it online, thank you
Question Author
Glad you found it, Kat.

I'm fascinated by your avatar - very unusual - any story behind it?
nothing interesting I'm afraid, a friend nicknamed me "katburd" because I adore cats and burd is his slang term for a female, surprisingly I found a picture to match name on google images

I wondered if you'd created it yourself using two different images.
When we first met Coco she was in a similar state to Sparkle, all ribs and bones but no fur either. She'd been locked in a shed and starved before being rescued by the RSPCA. Within 3 months she was a different dog, shiney coat and the most trusting girl you could ever meet. A lucky day for her when she was rescued but even luckier for us when we found her.
Same as masma, my brother-in-law took Zulu whose whole skeleton was showing through his skin. How he managed to go on living like that amazed us. His head looked too big for his poor starved body. He lived on a farm but was cruelly treated by them until he was rescued. My brother-in-law fussed over him, fed him, groomed him etc. and within a couple of months he was a different dog showing why he was called Zulu - glossy black skin on a well looked after body - beautiful.
Don't forget folks - second instalment of this fab programme tonight !
Ooh thanks for the reminder, I'll be there. I hope there is good news tonight as I can't take any more cruelty cases at the moment, they haunt me. Dreamed I was nursing a skeletal dog last night and when I woke up I thought I still had it in my arms but it was gone, it was so real.

Thanks very much, Chaptazbru.
