The Camarosa is the most widely grown strawberry in the world, grown in Mexico, Morocco, Spain, Egypt, Chile, Argentina, Australia and Peru. It is a large fruit with a brilliant red colour; internal flesh is highly coloured with a good flavour and firmness.

Thank you for your answer. It seems that you are a specialist in the field (!) of strawberries for processing. I heard there was a completely new variety in Morocco with a name sounding more or less like "chemiso". Would you have any info on that?

This link will take you to an article on the Camino Real variety, released in 2001, it is the closest I could think of to the one you mentioned.

It is an article from the USA, focussing on the Santa Maria strawberry-growing region, but the information is still useful.

I appreciate your help. I find the article about Camino Real very useful, but it is not the variety I was looking for. I am afraid that the person who shared with me the information on "Chemiso" got confused. I suppose that this person was talking about a rasberry variety- Chemainus...Everything seems to fall into place now.

One more question then: what are the best varieties suitable for processing in Europe and in Morocco?
