For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I ALWAYS make decent contributions to the red poppy-day appeal, out of respect for the fallen or disabled on all sides in all wars (poor warriors who were duped or conscripted by governments/religions seeking to gain or preserve their power, using us "plebs" as cannon-fodder).
HOWEVER, AFTER DONATING, I DO NOT TAKE AND HENCE DO NOT WEAR A POPPY - my actions satisfy me personally and I do not need to demonstrate this to others.
NO, SORRY WHURULES, I will NOT donate to your purple-poppy appeal although I sincerely repect your beliefs and efforts.
When it comes to deciding between dumb-animals or humans I chose humans.
My attitude is neatly summarised by TV adverts which ak me to subscribe a "mere" £2 per month to save some near-extinct animal while UK citizens are starving or freezing to death and our elected dictatorship hand out money to to rich nuclear-powers in order that they can buy our weapons to fuel more war-dead. Perhaps the royal or politician animal-killers could spare a few millions from their pocket-money to support your cause, dear whurules. Good luck in your humane crusade xxx.
I do not wish to expand this purple appeal beyond it's reasonable aim, so PLEASE NOBODY SIDETRACK IT by quoting "just" and "unjust" wars.
In all wars 99% of of the conscripts, those bullied or duped into the killing fields just want it over and to return to their families and peace, as opposed to the 1% who "lead" them from their safe bunkers far away.
I ADD THE LATTER PARAGRAPH BECAUSE, since childhood, I have never understood why we need charitable poppy-day(s) when OUR already paid-up money is diverted AWAY FROM OUR WISH TO RESPECT THE "FALLEN" (i.e. killed or maimed or in this case innocent animals) into multi-million more-death-projects.
