I've not seen the purple one, whurules - a nice idea, but RBL does rather have blanket coverage. I wonder if the animal charity shops (RSCPA etc) will be selling them?
I've never seen a purple one, but would definitley wear one if I did.
I'd never heard of that either. I'll certainly get one.
Didn't know there was such a thing. I will definitely buy one if I see them.

thankyou for all the positive answers i agree the rspca should do them really ,would sell well in their high st shops and thanks for the web link boxtops
if someone is selling them around our way i will, trying to find a poppy seller is a rare event as well, shame.
I ALWAYS make decent contributions to the red poppy-day appeal, out of respect for the fallen or disabled on all sides in all wars (poor warriors who were duped or conscripted by governments/religions seeking to gain or preserve their power, using us "plebs" as cannon-fodder).
HOWEVER, AFTER DONATING, I DO NOT TAKE AND HENCE DO NOT WEAR A POPPY - my actions satisfy me personally and I do not need to demonstrate this to others.
NO, SORRY WHURULES, I will NOT donate to your purple-poppy appeal although I sincerely repect your beliefs and efforts.
When it comes to deciding between dumb-animals or humans I chose humans.
My attitude is neatly summarised by TV adverts which ak me to subscribe a "mere" £2 per month to save some near-extinct animal while UK citizens are starving or freezing to death and our elected dictatorship hand out money to to rich nuclear-powers in order that they can buy our weapons to fuel more war-dead. Perhaps the royal or politician animal-killers could spare a few millions from their pocket-money to support your cause, dear whurules. Good luck in your humane crusade xxx.
I do not wish to expand this purple appeal beyond it's reasonable aim, so PLEASE NOBODY SIDETRACK IT by quoting "just" and "unjust" wars.
In all wars 99% of of the conscripts, those bullied or duped into the killing fields just want it over and to return to their families and peace, as opposed to the 1% who "lead" them from their safe bunkers far away.
I ADD THE LATTER PARAGRAPH BECAUSE, since childhood, I have never understood why we need charitable poppy-day(s) when OUR already paid-up money is diverted AWAY FROM OUR WISH TO RESPECT THE "FALLEN" (i.e. killed or maimed or in this case innocent animals) into multi-million more-death-projects.
Thank you for that information whurules, their site also has some pretty jewellery too which I shall send for.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention whu. If I find out certain shops or charities are selling them I will post back to let folks know where they can get them and perhaps others would do the same. I shall but both if I can.
thank you for the 'heads up' - will check it out
Thanks for the link Boxtops - will get one and wear it with pride ......
This may be an appropriate time to remind everyone that the ancestors of those pesky pigeons listed as vermin were an aid in saving thousands of lives by quickly transporting vital info during WW2.
It seems a thoroughly good idea but I guess a purple one should be worn only with a red one or some people might get the wrong idea.
Thinking of the vile slaughter of horses I personally would be proud to wear one alongside the red.
I have one but will send another donation...
I'm with seadogg - I'll be buying both. Thanks for telling us about it, whurules
If I see them on sale I will def buy one. Didnt know they existed. I really feel it for poor animals who cannot speak up for themselves. Im just a soft touch when ads come on TV for the really sad looking animals and children. It breaks my heart sometimes
I believe there is a wreath laying at the human society Animals in War statue in london

I think this is wonderful I have never heard of it but will make sure I buy one this year and get my friends to as well.
I will buy both, I did not know about the purple ones.
