Has anyone seen Redman or should I phone the organisers and see if he's under a table

Righty oh as promised not just one beer but a sort of best in class

A. Lights and Golds
1. Abduction by Dancing Duck Brewery 5.5 % ABV
A soft fruity start but becomes a big mouthful of smooth maltiness with a nice amount of bitterness to balance

2. Lemon Dream Salopian Brewery 4.5% ABV still one of the nicest 'citrus' beers clean crisp and lovely for a summer afternoon

3. Absolution by Abbeydale 5.3% ABV Just a nice easy to drink beer could be treated as a session beer (with caution)

Worth noting Bewdleys Worcestershire Sway 5.0% another slightly sweet fruity one for next summer

B) Ambers and light Tawnies

1. Wobbly Bob Phoenix 6.0%ABV Smooth and wonderfully rich loads of flavour Delish they sold out or we'd have gone back for another

2. Geezers Teaser Beowulf 6.5% lovely copper colour full of flavour- a perfect Autumn ale but almost too easy to drink

3. Old Henry 5.2% Hobsons another rich malty one that might be a bit easier to find lots of good qualities

C) Ruby and 'Winter Ales'

1. The Good The Bad and the Drunk Falstaff 6.2 % ABV looks like a tawny tastes like a stout could make an evening by a real log fire extremely enjoyable

2. Blunderbus Wadworths 5.0%ABV brewed with elderberries making it a spicy, fruity light heavyweight

3. Winter Ale Clearwater 5.2% sweet malty caramel with a colour to match just a touch of Mars bar about it...

D) Stouts and Porters

1. Bad Kitty 5.5% Brass Castle Smooth as silk and full of wonderful chocolate and vanilla

2. Dark Side of the Geek 5.5% Beergeek Brewery Beergeek weirdness in a dark beer with layers of flavours.. couldn't put my finger on all the flavours but it was fun trying

3. 1872 Elland brewery 6.5% a big traditional stout with lots of liquorice and chocolate

Couple of good also rans Wye Valley's Dorothy Goodbody's Wholesome stout and Kinver Black Rammoth

E) The odd/strange or very peculiar

1. Tactical Nuclear Penguin from Brewdog 32% ABV but it was sold in shots its a beer liqueur and nowhere near as scary as it sounds

2 Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout from Flying Dog 5.5% brewed with real oysters apparently and it does have a slight saltiness but its a really nice stout despite the embarrassment involved in asking for it

3. Fraoch Heather Ale can only describe this as drinking a nice light ale while sitting on a sunbaked heather moor I thought it was absolutely wonderful but I suspect the purists walked away shaking their heads

4. Sweet Leaf 8.0% Sadlers would be an interesting alternative to a pudding wine lots of soft sweetness but not so much that you lost the essential 'beerness'

5.Thomas Sykes 10.0% ABV Burton/Bridge Rich as Roman Abramovitch but a whole lot bigger and probably easier to make friends with Very good friends until it thumps you in the head and you hit the floor smiling

Best in show 3rd Bad Kitty
2nd Geezers Teaser

and only just in 1st place Wobbly Bob
