Why doesn't a spider get trapped in it's own web? In other words, why doesn't the spider stick to the web in the way that intruders suffer?

Because it's running on the surface of the web on the cross-threads, not on the sticky parts in the threads between each sector?
I've always wondered the same thing MantaRay!
Spiders do fascinate me even though I'm scared of them. Good link pdq1
